About the role

The AR Collections Supervisor at Sevita is responsible for overseeing the collection efforts of the assigned states/operating groups. This position requires direct supervision of the applicable collections staff and involves interactions with various levels of field and corporate finance personnel, payers, and both internal and external auditors.

Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership and direction to staff
  • Sets and monitors company goals
  • Assigns and monitors staff work priorities
  • Reviews assigned work for accuracy and completeness
  • Tracks productivity to ensure staff meet performance standards
  • Conducts and/or participates in AR reviews with key stakeholders
  • Analyzes, interprets, and communicates issues requiring management's attention
  • Works directly with Payer reps to resolve collection issues
  • Makes recommendations for reserves
  • Aids in the preparation of monthly/quarterly reports and trend analysis for management
  • Collaborates with the Billing, Cash and Data Integrity Team Supervisors to identify and resolve issues
  • Maintains the collection tool for new hires and updates collection procedures annually
  • Participates in the integration of newly acquired businesses and newly opened programs into the AR process
  • Reviews and updates end-user training
  • Maintains adherence to all corporate policies and procedures
  • Maintains Sarbanes Oxley compliance with all assigned areas and other audit requirements
  • Manages an effective control environment under SOX 404 for the accounting operations overseen
  • Performs system testing
  • Maintains and updates key and non-key controls
  • Oversight of control remediation activities

Requirements

  • Texas collections experience strongly preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Minimum three years’ experience in a direct supervisory role with responsibility for staffing decisions, training needs, and holding team to company benchmarks
  • Experience within a Medical Collections or high transaction volume environment
  • Knowledge of ICD-10 diagnosis codes and CPT medical service codes
  • Knowledge of UB-04 and HCFA-1500 forms
  • Strong understanding of medical collections compliance
  • Strong understanding of Medicare, Medicaid, Medicaid managed care, Commercial, Workers Comp and Auto-no-fault payer types

Physical Requirements

Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
