Position Summary

As an Aquatics Swim Instructor, you will work in a fast‑paced environment. You will help both adults and children improve their swimming, teach life skills to our youngest members, and evaluate swimming ability to establish the correct swim level. You will also help maintain the cleanliness and order of our Aquatics Facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Instruct swimming lessons and Aquatics events
  • Respond to member questions, comments, and concerns
  • Provide a safe, clean and organized pool area
  • Promote and sell all Aquatics programs and services

Minimum Required Qualifications

  • Education: Working towards a High School Diploma or GED
  • Successfully complete and pass all Life Time courses upon hire
  • Ability to work in a stationary position and move about the club for prolonged periods of time
  • Ability to communicate and exchange information with guests about Life Time products and services
  • Ability to swim 25 yards/meters without stopping
  • Ability to routinely and repetitively bend to lift 20 lb or less and occasionally bend to lift more than 20 lb
  • Licenses / Certifications / Registrations: StarGuard Elite Lifeguard, BLS CPR, and First Aid Certified (or bridge to StarGuard when current certification expires or within the first year, whichever is first). For Canada, Lifesaving Society Lifeguard certification and Standard FA with CPR.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Swim lesson instruction or coaching experience

Pay

This is an hourly position with wages starting at $17.50 and up to $20.50, based on experience and qualifications.
