Aquatics Swim Instructor

Responsibilities

• Teach swimming techniques, strokes, and water safety rules to students with varying abilities.
• Assist experienced swimmers in enhancing their skills.
• Assess student progress and adjust teaching programs accordingly.
• Monitor students to prevent accidents and injuries.
• Implement ground rules for each swim session.
• Plan swimming lessons based on students' abilities and progressive development.
• Identify and correct incorrect swimming techniques.
• Maintain cleanliness of the swimming pool and locker rooms.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3–5 years of experience as a swim instructor, with a proven track record of successful teaching (preferred).
• Certified in CPR, First Aid, and Lifeguarding; additional swim instruction certifications are highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of swimming techniques, stroke mechanics, and water safety protocols.
• Other education/experience as accepted by the school board and administration.
