About the role

Park & Recreation staff operate 4 year-round indoor and 7 summer outdoor swimming pools. This position offers opportunities to develop leadership skills and ensure safety and enjoyment.

Responsibilities

• Convey good public relations
• Follow established policies and procedures
• Operate and maintain city pools
• Support diverse community members

Requirements

• Current OR process for StarGuard Lifeguard Certification
• Portland Parks & Recreation Swim Instructor Certification
• Portland Parks & Recreation Water Fitness Instructor Certification and/or AEA/Equivalent certification

Pay

• Recreation Associate: $22.59/hour starting wage
• Recreation Leader - PT/Seasonal: $20.11/hour starting wage
• Parks Activities Specialist: $25.06/hour - $38.68/hour

Hours may vary based on program needs and job classification. Flexible hours are expected.
