Aquatics Lead

About the role

Teaching the British Swim School program curriculum to children and adults as needed, including special needs/adaptive aquatics.
Managing Swim Instructors at multiple pool locations as needed on varying days and hours.
Engaging with parents on deck, articulating student progress and areas for improvement.
Providing the initial training in the BSS swim method and the ongoing development of all our swim teachers.
Using BSS Instructor assessment and development tools/checklists to maintain lesson quality.
Evaluating swim instructor performance and creating performance improvement plans as necessary.
Offering guidance and support when managing difficult class situations.

Responsibilities

• Returning lead calls - some phone call handling - bilingual
• Reports to Aquatics Manager

Requirements

• A great personality with a desire to work with kids in a fun environment while teaching survival skills
• Experience working with children and a passion for our mission of water safety and survival
• At least 1 years of experience leading a team
• Experience with setting and maintaining standards for a service business – especially if its child related
• Bilingual

Qualifications

While we teach swimming to people of all ages and abilities, most of our students are preschool and elementary-aged kids. Our instructors should like working with this age group and be good at making parents feel comfortable. It's helpful if you have experience with children or in a child-focused job, but it's not required if you can show the right attitude. The job comes with specialized training in our advanced and unique British Swim School approach.
