Aquatics & Fitness Specialist

About the role

Leads Fitness operations on land and assists the Recreation Manager - Aquatics with water program operations and personnel including part-time lifeguards, swimming and fitness instructors, coaches, volunteers, and contracted staff. Receives general supervision from the Recreation Manager - Aquatics.

• Assists the Recreation Manager - Aquatics with water program operations and personnel (part-time lifeguards, swimming and fitness instructors, coaches, volunteers, contracted staff)

Qualifications

Required Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Parks and Recreation or related field
• At least three (3) years of previous experience in a similar full-time position including direct supervisory experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience providing necessary skills and abilities
• First Aid, CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer certification
• Lifeguard Training certification
• Within 6 months of hire: Water Safety Instructor (WSI) certification
• Within 6 months of hire: Either Certified Pool Operator (CPO) or Aquatic Facility Operator (AFO) certification

Preferred Certifications:

• Nationally recognized Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) and/or group exercise certification
• Lifeguard Training Instructor (LGI) certification
• Water Safety Instructor Trainer (WSIT) certification

Schedule

Recreation Center hours of operation, or as directed by supervisor; evenings and weekends.

Pay

Pay Range: Grade 5
