About the role
As a Project Cost Lead, you will lead complex cost management and financial analysis activities for projects. You will apply deep cost expertise and broad business knowledge to support decision-making, optimize financial performance, and address complex, non-standard issues. You will be an important contributor in critical environments and may provide team leadership, mentoring, and technical guidance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and independently perform advanced cost management, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting activities for complex programs.
- Analyze monthly departmental budgeting and accounting reports to maintain expenditure controls and financial discipline.
- Compile and interpret detailed accounting records and financial data to determine funding and resource requirements.
- Direct the preparation and review of cost and budget reports, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with policies and regulations.
- Consult with managers and project team members to ensure budget adjustments align with approved program changes and evolving priorities.
- Examine budget estimates for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to procedures; recommend corrective actions as needed.
- Interpret budget directives and recommend or implement policies and best practices to perform those directives.
- Align appropriations for specific programs with broader funding allocations, including contingency and emergency funding needs.
- Perform advanced cost-benefit and financial analyses to compare operating scenarios, evaluate funding requests, and assess alternative approaches.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.
- Minimum 7 years of relevant cost analysis, finance, accounting, or Project Controls experience.
Pay
The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $103,200 to $129,000.
