APU Crew Chief

About the role
TAT Technologies is looking for a qualified APU Crew Chief who is dedicated to both internal and external customers. This position is responsible for the effective and successful management of labor, productivity, quality control, and safety measures as established.
Responsibilities
- Overall development, planning, training, safety, coordinating, cleanliness, organization, part protection, flow, efficiencies, standard times, deadlines, part needs, sub-work orders, and travelers related to APUs, LRUs, components, parts, and tools
- Maintaining equipment related to the area
- Meeting customer and contract turn times
- Communicating with other departments to meet tasks
- Managing time and attendance for each technician in the department
- Segregation of airworthy and non-airworthy parts and FAA and non-FAA components
- Participating in the hiring and termination process of technicians
- Coaching and counseling employees as necessary
- Conducting performance evaluations for technicians
- Accurately completing work orders, BOMs, and data inputs within the ERP system
- Reading, understanding, and complying with Commercial, FAA, EASA, Repair Station, ITAR, and ISO documentation
- Processing proper tools and practicing safe and efficient productive use of tools
- Supervising personnel assigned to the area of responsibility and monitoring performance, quality, and quantity
- Verifying that all personnel have been satisfactorily trained and documented to perform assigned tasks
- Immediately reporting any safety, quality, or unethical actions or conditions to a supervisor
- Operating, maintaining, and servicing specialized equipment
- Performing other duties as assigned by any supervisor in a professional manner
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED minimum
- Reading, writing, and comprehension of the English language
- Technical school courses in mechanic or machinist classes preferred
- FAA Airframe and/or Powerplant license or equivalent certification preferred
- Basic knowledge of mechanical and metal work required
- Minimum 2 years of experience required
- High level of integrity, confidentiality, and discretion
- Computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Quantum preferred
- Ability to make basic decisions and work with deadlines while understanding pressure
- Effective communication (both oral and written) with other personnel and management
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to read, write, comprehend, and comply with verbal and written work instructions
- Ability to write technical and accurate reports as needed
- Ability to work independently as well as in teams
- Familiarity with safety requirements and safe work habits
- Lean Manufacturing and 5S experience preferred
- Ability to work in a team environment
