About the Role
Apstar Feeder is responsible for feeding material at the Apstar machine, assisting the machine operator with machine set-up, utility, and quality tasks, and performing machine operating tasks as directed by the machine operator.
Responsibilities
- Load material into Apstar machine at feeder to maintain production rate.
- Inspect material to be fed at feeder section for defects and ensure conformance to customer and product specifications.
- Use electric pallet jack or manual pallet jack as required to move sheets at the feeder or cut material at the machine stacker/delivery section.
- Assist the operator with changeovers, machine set-up, and machine adjustments based on product requirements.
- Assist the operator with operating and troubleshooting machine problems to maintain the production process and run machine at established rate.
- Use machine controls to operate machine either independently (performing authorized operating tasks in the absence of a machine operator) or as directed by the machine operator to start, stop, or make adjustments.
- Use RF scanner to scan transactions to the Warehouse Management System and generate labels corresponding to items.
- Record data on specified forms and complete required line documentation.
- Perform housekeeping and machine sanitation tasks to maintain a clean and orderly work area.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures including GMP, PPE, HACCP, and JSA regulations.
- Ensure product safety, quality, regulatory compliance, and legality of all products produced and sold where applicable.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent; trade school preferred.
- Equivalent experience or experience multi-tasking in a fast-paced work environment.
Skills
- Ability to use manual hand jack, electric pallet jack, and moisture meter.
- Ability to use RF scanner for WMS transactions.
- Ability to read, understand, and comprehend documents such as safety rules, internal quality procedures, and quality checklists.
- Ability to communicate production and machine issues to supervisors and others in the work area.
- Basic mathematics (e.g., counting) and measurement skills.
