APRN/PA - Neurology Headache Clinic
Summary of Job Duties
This position will hire for either APRN or PA. The APRN/PA will assist the collaborative physician with clinic patients, organize visits and perform clinic procedures, assist in the procedural room, and answer calls daily for the Neurology Headache subspecialty for evaluation, treatment, and procedures for the Interventional pain patient population. The APRN/PA will be responsible for managing the care of outpatients independently or with the physician, answering telephone inquiries and filling prescriptions, and performing injections.
Qualifications
- APRN: Master’s Degree in Nursing – APRN
Three (3) years of nursing experience. Licensed Registered Nurse in Arkansas
APRN License
One (1) year of experience in Neurology preferred - PA: Master’s Degree – Physician Assistant
One (1) year of PA experience in Neurology

Additional Information
Responsibilities:
- Extend the patient care and administrative services of the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences physicians.
- Provide comprehensive health assessments, determine diagnoses, implement treatment plans, prescribe medical treatments, and manage health issues for patients in collaboration with the designated physician(s).
- Work autonomously, as well as, in collaboration with a variety of individuals to diagnose and manage patients' health care problems; and will serve as a health care resource, interdisciplinary consultant, and patient advocate.
- Carefully coordinate the multidisciplinary care of patients, facilitating all necessary consults, and ensuring that care is timely and appropriate.
- Interact with and assist the public in a professional and friendly manner as needed.
- Demonstrate effective communication skills; communicate accurate and complete information; maintain strict confidentiality when necessary.
- Demonstrate positive working relationships with co-workers, management team, and ancillary departments; follow the Core Concepts of Patient and Family-Centered Care and the Basic Code of Conduct Guidelines.
- Aid internal and external stakeholders as needed with exceptional customer service.
