About the Role
This posting will fill with either an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Physician Assistant (PA). The APRN/PA works collaboratively with a physician and multidisciplinary health team to provide comprehensive care to outpatients. Responsibilities include assessment, diagnosis, treatment, management, education, health promotion, and care coordination for patients and families with acute and chronic health needs.
Responsibilities
- Extend the patient care and administrative services of UAMS physicians.
- Provide comprehensive health assessments, determine diagnoses, implement treatment plans, prescribe medical treatments, and manage health issues for patients in collaboration with the designated physician(s).
- Work autonomously and collaboratively to diagnose and manage patients' health care problems; serve as a health care resource, interdisciplinary consultant, and patient advocate.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary care of patients, facilitating consults and ensuring timely, appropriate care.
- Interact with and assist the public in a professional and friendly manner.
- Demonstrate effective communication skills, including maintaining confidentiality when necessary.
- Foster positive working relationships with co-workers, management, and ancillary departments; adhere to Core Concepts of Patient and Family Centered Care and Basic Code of Conduct Guidelines.
- Provide exceptional customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- APRN:
- Master’s Degree in Nursing – Family Medicine
- Three (3) years of nursing experience
- Licensed Registered Nurse in Arkansas
- APRN License
- 1 year of APRN experience in a Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Endocrine Clinic (preferred)
- PA:
- Master’s Degree – Physician Assistant
- 1 year of PA experience in a Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Endocrine Clinic
Preferred Qualifications
- APRN:
- Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP)
- 3 years of nursing experience
- 3 years of APRN experience in a Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Endocrine Clinic
- PA:
- 3 years of PA experience in a Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Endocrine Clinic
