Summary of Job Duties
This posting will fill with either an APRN or PA. The Advanced Practice Nurse/Physician Assistant works collaboratively with a physician and multidisciplinary health team to provide comprehensive care to outpatients. The APRN/PA is responsible for assessment, diagnosis, treatment, management, education, health promotion, and care coordination for patients and families with acute and chronic health needs.
Qualifications
APRN Minimum Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Nursing – Family Medicine
- Three (3) years of nursing experience
- Licensed Registered Nurse in Arkansas
- APRN License
- 1 year of APRN experience in a Family Medicine or Internal Medicine Clinic or Nephrology preferred
PA Minimum Qualifications:
- Master's Degree – Physician Assistant
- 1 year of PA experience in a Family Medicine or Internal Medicine Clinic or Nephrology clinic PA
APRN Preferred Qualifications:
- DNP
- 3 years of nursing experience
- 3 years of APRN experience in a Family Medicine or Internal Medicine Clinic, or Nephrology clinic
PA Preferred Qualifications:
- 3 years of PA experience in a Family Medicine or Internal Medicine Clinic, or Nephrology clinic
Responsibilities
- Extend the patient care and administrative services of the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences physicians
- Provide comprehensive health assessments, determine diagnoses, implement treatment plans, prescribe medical treatments, and manage health issues for patients in collaboration with the designated physician(s)
- Work autonomously, as well as, in collaboration with a variety of individuals to diagnose and manage patients' health care problems; and will serve as a health care resource, interdisciplinary consultant, and patient advocate
- Coordinate the multidisciplinary care of patients, facilitating all necessary consults, and assuring that care is timely and appropriate
- Interacts with and assists the public in a professional and friendly manner as needed
- Demonstrates effective communication skills; communicates accurate and complete information; maintains strict confidentiality when necessary
- Demonstrates positive working relationships with co-workers, management team, and ancillary departments; follows the Core Concepts of Patient and Family Centered Care and the Basic Code of Conduct Guidelines
- Assist internal and external stakeholders as needed with exceptional customer service
- Other duties as assigned
