APRN/PA Clinic- Full Time (Pensacola)

Summary

Aids in the care and education of patients under the supervision of a physician.

  • Assesses physical and psychological patient status through interviews, health histories, physical examinations, and diagnostic tests.
  • Writes prescriptions for medications, blood products, and diagnostic and follow-up studies based on laboratory results.
  • Determines patient eligibility for clinical trials based on findings.
  • Interprets and evaluates test results and communicates patient care information to collaborating physicians.
  • Administers therapeutic measures and collects specimens as prescribed.
  • Drafts follow-up letters to referring physicians summarizing treatment, responses, and plans.
  • Drafts or writes patient history, admission, progress, and discharge notes in a timely manner.
  • Supports family dynamics and coping mechanisms during acute and chronic patient care phases.
  • Makes rounds with the multidisciplinary team to ensure quality care delivery.
  • Triage patients based on urgency and coordinates with the physician for urgent evaluations.
  • Documents patient care accurately and promptly using appropriate forms and records.
  • Learns and adapts to changes in the healthcare environment.
  • Assists staff during crises or emergencies.
  • Engages with the public to market and promote cancer treatment services.
  • Manages work priorities and assigns tasks to maintain efficient operations.
  • Complies with federal and state laws and regulations regarding patient privacy and safety.
  • Adheres to FCS and departmental policies and procedures, including IT policies and the Disaster Recovery Plan.
  • Maintains work areas and equipment in a neat and orderly manner.
  • Promotes confidentiality of patient and employee information.
  • Trains new employees on related job duties.
  • Works at any FCS location to support business needs.
  • May work overtime as required.

Requirements

Graduate from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program, master's degree in nursing or post-masters nurse practitioner certificate program, 0 - 3 years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant, current license/registration to practice in the state of Florida, prescriptive privileges or eligibility to apply, certification from American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP), American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), or the Oncology Nurses Certification Corporation (ONCC), BLS certified.

Qualifications

Analytical skills necessary to evaluate patients' status, health care procedures, and to monitor the quality of patient care.

Fiscal skills to monitor and control costs and revenue.
