APRN Orthopedics/Hand Surgery

Job Description

Perform comprehensive patient assessments, histories, and physical examinations. Evaluate and manage orthopedic and hand surgery patients in clinic and/or hospital settings. Assist in the diagnosis and treatment of fractures, tendon injuries, nerve compression syndromes, arthritis, and other upper extremity conditions. Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with orthopedic hand surgeons. Provide preoperative and postoperative care, including wound assessments and follow-up visits. Order, interpret, and review diagnostic studies, laboratory results, and imaging. Perform procedures within the APRN scope of practice and organizational guidelines. Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, recovery expectations, rehabilitation, and injury prevention. Coordinate care with physicians, therapists, nursing teams, and other specialists. Document patient encounters accurately and maintain compliance with regulatory and organizational standards. Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

• Advanced knowledge of orthopedic and hand surgery practices, procedures, and patient management.
• Ability to evaluate, diagnose, and treat musculoskeletal and upper extremity conditions.
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to interpret diagnostic tests, imaging studies, and laboratory results.
• Knowledge of preoperative and postoperative orthopedic patient care.
• Excellent communication and patient education skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with orthopedic surgeons and multidisciplinary care teams.
• Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) and clinical documentation.

• Master's of Nursing [Required]
• Field Of Study Nursing

Work Experience

• 1+ year of related work experience [Required]

Pay Range

$91,313.86 - $169,845.73
