Essential Functions
- Affirms the patient's condition and nursing care needs.
- Sets goals and prescribes appropriate nursing interventions to meet physical, psychological, social and rehabilitative needs of patients.
- Develops individual nursing care plans.
- Implements care plans and makes revisions as needed.
- Evaluates patient care outcomes.
- Collaborates with physicians and other hospital employees.
- Administers medications, treatments and therapies.
- Communicates with patients and oversees provision of care.
- Provides patients and/or family with instruction and education relevant to condition.
- Accurately documents nursing observations, assessments, medications, treatments, and other care given.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Understand, communicate, and react effectively to patient and family needs.
- Critical thinking.
- Work well under pressure while keeping calm and maintaining customer focus.
Education & Certifications
- High school diploma or any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Current Apprentice Registered Nurse license in the state of practice.
Physical And Mental Demands

- Works in well-lit, ventilated and climate-controlled office environment with routine office equipment; some equipment has moving mechanical parts.
- In hospital environment, may be exposed to hazards and unusual elements, which may include but are not limited to bloodborne pathogens and / or contagious illnesses, toxic chemicals, and biohazardous materials which may require extensive safety precautions and the use of protective equipment.
- Noise level in the work environment is typical for an office and/or hospital environment.
