Responsibilities
- Drive profitable store sales by fostering a retail-selling culture and practicing effective sales skills.
- Develop professional relationships with team members and guests.
- Verify visual acuity and analyze and interpret prescriptions and lens design.
- Measure pupillary distances, bifocal, trifocal, and progressive placement.
- Select and measure frames for facial contour, eye size, bridge size, and temple length.
- Fit and adjust eyewear to the face and eyes.
- Dispense contact lenses.
- Fill ophthalmic eyeglass prescriptions and fit lenses and frames within state guidelines.
- Ensure high-quality and timely product manufacturing and fabrication.
- Dispense quality products in compliance with state regulations.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Actively enrolled in a state-approved Optician Apprentice program.
- 2+ years in retail or customer service.
- Basic computer skills.
- Independent, self-motivated, and able to grow sales through sales skills.
- Enthusiastic and concise communication with attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate Degree.
Pay
Starting pay range: $23.95 per hour. Employee pay is determined by factors including geography, experience, qualifications, skills, and local minimum wage requirements. You may also be offered a competitive bonus and/or commission plan.
