Apprentice Mold Maker 1

About the role

The Mold Maker Journeyman repairs Mold equipment using a variety of tools. This role welds, files, grinds, vents, and polishes the Molds. This role involved letter cutting, lathe work, and millwork. This is an apprenticeship position to achieve Mold Maker Journeyman status.

Responsibilities

• Weld, grind, file, and polish mold equipment
• Grind lathe tools and do lathe work as required
• Run surface grinder when reducing mold equipment
• Use welding torches and gauges
• Repair mold equipment using milling machines
• Inspect mold equipment

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a production manufacturing environment
• Tool and Die experience
• Must be able to stand for 8 hours
• Must be able to lift twenty (20) pounds

Skills

• Technical school degree or equivalent
• Journeyman Card or equivalent experience
• Stable work history with no gaps in employment

Pay

The starting pay rate for this role is $36.62 per hour. Any future increases are dictated by the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
