About the role
An Apprentice Lineman performs work under the direction of a Supervisor or Working Foreman in connection with construction, maintenance, operations, and service of distribution line protective equipment and associated equipment. This includes "hot-line" work, transmission switching, sectionalizing, and fusing. The role involves responding to all member outages to restore services effectively and efficiently while adhering to all Safety Rules and Regulations of the Association. Additional duties may be assigned by the Supervisor or Working Foreman.
Responsibilities
- Perform construction, maintenance, and operational tasks related to distribution line protective equipment and associated equipment.
- Conduct "hot-line" work, transmission switching, sectionalizing, and fusing.
- Respond to member outages to restore services promptly and safely.
- Follow all Safety Rules and Regulations of the Association.
- Carry out additional duties as directed by the Supervisor or Working Foreman.
Requirements
- Pass the entry-level apprentice test.
- Complete and pass the four-year apprentice training course.
- Possess a Class A Commercial Driver’s License.
