About the role

The Craft – Apprentice Lineman is responsible for safely and efficiently performing Civil/Electrical duties at the project site.

Responsibilities

  • Climbs wood poles, lattice structures, and works off steel mono pole structures.
  • Clips over-head structures.
  • Affords assistance in the construction of new overhead and underground services and service upgrades.
  • Operates bucket truck, digger derek, back-hoe, production digger, tensioner, and rope puller.

  • Presents, supports, and leads-by-example with a safety and quality-oriented attitude.
  • Safety
    • Ensures that safety is the most important function and follows safe practices while working.
    • Reinforces safe behaviors and eliminates “at risk” behaviors.
    • Ensures Job Hazard Analysis (JHAs) occurs before scopes of work commence.
    • Adheres to and understands standard operating procedures.
    • Receives job- and task-specific training prior to work commencing.
    • Determines appropriate action.
    • Reports potentially unsafe conditions and uses materials and equipment properly.
    • Attends work regularly and punctually, as scheduled or expected.
    • Complies with Employee Handbook, Code of Conduct and Company Policies & Procedures.

Qualifications

  • Completion of an accredited apprenticeship program required.
  • High School Diploma/GED required.
  • 1 or more years of underground and substation experience preferred.
  • Ability to travel domestically 76-100% required.
  • Knowledgeable of OSHA guidelines.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Knowledge of distribution and transmission lines.
  • Knowledge in framing.
  • Experienced sticking and gloving.
  • Interest in a program of self-development.
  • Willing to accept increased responsibilities.
  • Functional competencies include attention to detail, communication, casting the right shadow, accountability, and ethics and integrity.

  • Per Diem of $100 daily to cover lodging, meals and travel during rotation.
