Apprentice Leasing Agent
Job Summary
Under the direction of a trainer and/or a Property Manager, the apprentice Leasing Agent will learn the basics of leasing and foundational property management principles for the multi-family industry. They will also learn how to facilitate and conduct property tours and show apartments to prospects, lease apartments to qualified applicants, renew leases with current residents, and perform administrative duties concerning property management.
Minimum Qualifications
- Education: High School or GED
- Experience: Must have six months of customer service experience.
- Licenses/Certifications: Valid state driver’s license
- Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: English and Spanish fluency, effective interpersonal, customer service, and organizational skills, strong computer technology skills with basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
Principal Responsibilities
- Advertises available units and conducts property tours as part of marketing activities
- Greets prospects by professionally presenting the features and benefits of the community
- Screens prospect residents to ensure they meet eligibility requirements
- Examines property and informs maintenance employees of issues
- Completes lease applications and assists with verification of application information
- Engages with residents to provide information and address complaints and concerns
- Completes resident move-ins and move-outs in compliance with all company procedures
- Conducts unit inspections to ensure they maintain high levels of quality
- Affords assistance with facilitating renewals by communicating with residents
- Organizes and participates in community-related events and activities in the community
