Job Overview
We are seeking an Apprentice Healthcare Assistant to join our team. This is a full-time apprenticeship role (37.5 hours per week), with a minimum of 30 hours per week required. Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, you will progress from Band 2 to Band 3. No direct experience is necessary, as full training will be provided. However, knowledge of working in a healthcare setting would be advantageous.
To be eligible for this apprenticeship, you must:
- Be aged 18 or over
- Have the right to work and remain in the UK
- Have lived in the UK for at least 3 years
- Not be self-employed
- Provide original evidence of required English and Maths qualifications at interview
Responsibilities
- Assist the qualified nursing team with setting up the clinical area
- Look after patients pre and post-procedure, reporting any concerns to the nursing team
- Work as part of the multi-disciplinary team to maintain high levels of patient care and dignity
- Contribute to clerical duties when required
- Contribute to cleaning and housekeeping within the department
- Ensure stock is available as required
Requirements
- Willingness to undertake and complete the apprenticeship course within 15-18 months
- Present self as courteous, respectful, and helpful
- Basic IT skills
- GCSEs in English and Maths at Grades 3-2 (or D-E or Level 1 Functional/Key Skills)
Qualifications
- GCSEs in English and Maths at Grades 3-2 (or D-E or Level 1 Functional/Key Skills) - essential
- GCSEs in English and Maths at Grades 9-4 (or A*-C or Level 2 Functional/Key Skills) - desirable
Skills
- Basic IT skills - essential
- Excellent communication skills
Further Information
- You will not be considered if you have an equivalent or higher qualification in the same or a very similar subject
- You must not be engaged in any other training or education program
