Apprentice Electrician

About the role

This role requires 100% travel. You will need to have a current Electrical License and a TWIC Card or be able to obtain one in your first 30 days to remain working.

The Apprentice Electrician is responsible for repairing, maintaining, designing, and installing different kinds of electrical systems. In addition, the Apprentice Electrician determines the type and cost of materials required for the project, ensures specifications and drawings are accurate, reviews projects and plans, determines layouts and testing electrical patterns.

Responsibilities

• Running tests, isolating problems, replacing damaged section of wiring, laying conduit, and performing other tasks as required
• Performing physically demanding tasks like moving or lifting heavy objects, digging trenches for laying conduit
• Installing electrical systems, including bending conduit, installing supports and raceway for cable distribution, installing cable tray, installation of grounding system, pulling cable, and assisting as directed
• Retrofitting equipment with controls needed to improve the efficiency and performance of electrical devices

Requirements

• Basic ability to read electrical drawings
• Able to lift up to 50lbs for the assistance of moving materials for installation
• Entry-level knowledge of commercial electrical installation, maintenance and repair experience
• High School Diploma required
• Apprentice license applicable to the state where work is located

Skills

• Proficient in electrical installation, maintenance and repair in all settings
• Ability to visualize completed work prior to installation
• Ability to plan, schedule, and organize tasks in an efficient manner in order to meet deadlines
• Demonstrates proper use and safe handling of tools, equipment, and materials
• Strong manual dexterity and great eye-hand coordination for working with small wires
• Ability to recognize wires by colors
• Expert communicator and problem-solving ability

Qualifications

• Valid Driver’s License
• Eligible to work in the United States
