About the role

The Apprentice Electrician, under the direction of the Master Electrician, is responsible for the installation, start-up, troubleshooting, commissioning, and servicing of industrial/commercial electrical equipment and systems. This position will follow the directions of the Journeyman Electrician to complete electrical maintenance and repair work.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Electrician with basic tasks
• Complete maintenance work orders on electrical equipment
• Test malfunctioning equipment, identify defects, troubleshoot, repair equipment, and replace defective parts
• Collaborate with other electrical staff to identify and resolve problems
• Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading professional publications

Requirements

• Ability to understand schematics and technical manuals
• Reliable with excellent oral and written communication skills
• Willing to submit to pre-employment screening, including criminal background check and drug screen
• Basic computer knowledge
• Must be 18 years of age or older

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of electrical apprenticeship preferred
• Demonstrated knowledge of electrical codes

Physical Demands and Work Environment

• Indoor office setting with controlled temperature
• Potential visits to outdoor industrial sites with exposure to weather extremes
• Potential exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, or other environmental factors
• Travel requirements: up to 10% of time
• Compliance with all applicable safety regulations, personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements, and Loenbro's Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) policies
