About the role
The Missouri Judiciary is seeking an Apprentice Court Clerk to perform entry-level duties in a court utilizing an electronic filing system. The position involves processing court cases, providing customer service, and performing administrative tasks.
Responsibilities
- Assure completeness and accuracy of documents filed through the court's electronic filing system before acceptance
- Prepare, scan, and attach documents by using DMS in the case management system
- Review monthly the inventory of open cases report
- Send notices to attorneys and litigants
- Enter data into the court information system
- Process pleadings and make docket entries
- Print, certify, and mail payment histories from the MACSS system upon request
- Process income withholdings
- Answer inquiries and furnish information to attorneys, court personnel and the general public in person and by telephone
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Associate’s Degree in a related field or at least 60 semester hours from an institution of higher learning
- Additional experience above the minimum stated may be substituted on a year for year basis for the required education
Qualifications
- Ability to comprehend court procedures and policies, legal documents, laws and legal factors pertaining to the court
- Ability to gain working knowledge of organization operations, functions and scope of authority of the court
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively while handling a high-volume workload in an environment subject to frequently changing priorities and high stress
- Ability to exercise good judgment and make independent decisions in accordance with general policy and objectives
- Ability to maintain a variety of complex records and prepare reports from an automated system
Skills
- Knowledge of applicable terminology, rules and procedures
- Technical skills in using DMS in the case management system
- Financial record keeping within an automated case management system

Pay
The salary reflected represents the base pay for this position and does not include any differential for time-of-service pay for state tenure.
