Our High Voltage Division delivers comprehensive engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) solutions for critical electrical infrastructure across the utility, renewable energy, and industrial markets. Our expertise includes substations, switchyards, and transmission line systems ranging from distribution and medium voltage to extra-high voltage (EHV).

About the role

Responsible for assisting with other craft workers in physical labor on jobsites while maintaining a clean, safe and efficient construction site and supporting the overall project. This role offers nationwide opportunities based on project needs, with project assignments typically lasting between 4 to 10 months. In addition to your base salary, you’ll receive a daily per diem to assist with living expenses while on assignment.

Responsibilities

  • Promote and comply with all Company and safety policies and procedures
  • Complete all required Safety documentation
  • Signal operators of construction equipment to facilitate alignment, movement and adjustment of machinery to load, offload, push and pull
  • Level earth to fine grade specifications using shovel or other hand tool
  • Smooth and finish freshly poured concrete using float, trowel or screed
  • Position, join, align and connect pumps, motors and other mechanical or metal parts
  • Apply caulking compounds by hand or with caulking gun to seal crevices
  • Grind, sand or polish surfaces such as concrete and steel, using abrasive tools or machines
  • Perform tasks involving use of hands and tools such as torquing/tensioning bolts and studs, assembling metal parts, building bolt cages, vibrating concrete, sawing lumber, dismantling forms, removing forms from concrete, and demolitions, cleanup, use of jackhammers, etc.
  • May be required to install electrical conduit and grounding as well as pull wire through conduit and make wire connections on substation equipment
  • Perform care and maintenance of assigned tools
  • Perform substation labor on construction sites
  • May be required to travel to different jobsites on limited notice
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) and zero to twelve months of related experience in construction
  • Take reasonable care of your own and others’ health and safety and of those who may be affected by the day-to-day delivery of this role by taking personal responsibility for working toward Safety principles
  • Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Add and subtract two-digit numbers and multiply and divide with 10's and 100's; ability to perform these operations using units, weight measurement and volume
  • Understanding of Basic Electrical Systems
  • Common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form
  • Be able to work within precise standards of accuracy and follow set procedures and Standards

Pay

$20/hour+, commensurate with experience
