Apprentice Aircraft Maintenance Technician - 1083

About the role

We are looking for people who aspire to become licensed Aircraft Maintenance Technicians — people with strong mechanical aptitude and a self-starter attitude who can adapt to our standards of conduct while working as part of a team in a safety-oriented environment. Responsibilities

• Perform general mechanical functions on aircraft and related systems.
• Remove and install panels and components, repair work and sheet metal repair or installation.
• Troubleshooting assistance of systems on the aircraft when designated.
• Inspection and evaluation of the aircraft and components when designated.
• Aircraft movement, assistance in performance runs and taxiing when required.
• Maintenance and repair of shop facility, equipment and tooling when required.
• Basic computer skills to be able to navigate electronic training, manuals, and maintenance data bases.
• Effectively and clearly communicate (i.e., speak, write, read) in English.
• Any other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor or management.

Requirements

• A High school diploma or equivalent.
• A valid driver’s license approved for airline travel and/or a valid passport is ideal, but not mandatory.
• Technicians with no A&P license Limited to no prior experience in aviation. Prior experience in military aviation or with general mechanical background is preferred.
• Work under supervision of assigned Team Leader and Director of Maintenance. May be directed to supervise other technicians in some capacity.

Qualifications

• Self-motivated and able to perform in a fast-paced environment where working under specific deadlines and time constraints will be common.
• Attend work every day as scheduled to include overtime and weekend assignments. Notify supervisor in advance of shift starting if unable to work. Must have reliable transportation to get to work each day.
• Work in accordance with Federal Aviation Administration guidelines. Follow all company and safety rules during performance of duties. Maintain customer-oriented work habits.

Pay

The hourly rate for this position generally ranges between $22 - $30. Actual hourly rate will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience and performance.
