Appraiser Trainee

About the role

Murray County Government is seeking a full‑time Appraiser Trainee for the Tax Assessor's Office. The position focuses on field work visiting parcels to reappraise property values, complemented by clerical duties that support the public and appraisers.

Responsibilities

• Visit parcels in the field and reappraise property values.
• Perform clerical work assisting the general public with property assessment information.
• Assist Appraisers with personal property and in the field.
• Make copies and file record cards, maps, plats, etc.
• Carry out general office duties.

Qualifications

• Ability to obtain Appraiser designation (required).
• Good communication skills (required).

Skills

• Knowledge of construction techniques.
• Measuring.
• Mathematics.
• Sketching.
• Mapping.
• Geography.
• Aptitude to learn the above skills.

Pay

Starting pay is $17.48 per hour, increasing to $19.27 per hour once Appraiser certifications are complete.

Schedule

Monday – Thursday, 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
