About the role
Perform special duties as assigned. Prepare appraisals as assigned in compliance with USPAP, State Law, and VDOT Policies and Procedures.
Responsibilities
- Prepare appraisals, sales research and summary for BARs as needed.
- Review appraisals for accuracy, reasonableness, and compliance with appropriate appraisal application and USPAP, applicable laws and VDOT Policy and Procedures. Prepare review appraisals with recommendation based on this review.
- Perform duties, tasks, activities and/or projects as assigned.
- Review plans for the purpose of determining appraisal needs.
Qualifications
- Ability to effectively communicate complex information to a wide variety of individuals both orally and in writing.
- Ability to obtain and maintain an Appraiser License/Certification.
- Ability to read and interpret highway plans and highway construction.
- Knowledge of various appraisal methods.
Skills
- Ability to effectively communicate complex information to a wide variety of individuals both orally and in writing.
- Ability to resolve work-related issues and disputes in a professional manner and through established business practices.
- Knowledge of eminent domain appraising principles and procedures.
- Knowledge of software required to perform daily duties, such as Word, Excel, and Adobe.
Additional Considerations
- A combination of training, experience, or education in Real Estate Appraising or related field is desired.
- Certified General Real Estate Appraiser.
- Certified Residential Real Estate Appraiser.
- Knowledge of Right of Way Appraising.
- Knowledge of eminent domain appraising policies and procedures.
- Licensed Residential Real Estate Appraiser.
- Skill in Appraisal Review.
