About the role

Responsibilities

• Alignment of the applicant’s career stage with PHCSA criteria
• Training and Development: Strength and relevance of professional development plans
• Quality and robustness of the proposed research, including public involvement
• Commitment and capability of the host organisation
• Review applications and provide detailed feedback for shortlisting
• Attend two days of interview meetings annually
• Dedicate approximately one additional day for preparation and follow-up work

Qualifications

• Relevant professional experience in public health
• Understanding of the importance of public health research
• Recent or current senior-level experience within the UK public health sector
• Proven leadership and research track record
• Appropriate professional qualifications and registrations
• Analyse and summarise complex documentation
• Engage confidently in professional discussions
• Communicate feedback clearly and constructively
• Use digital systems and demonstrate computer literacy
