Applied Scientist, RL post-training, AWS

About the role

Join the world class researchers and academics in the AWS AI endeavor to develop the science that powers new businesses in cloud computing. Work on Reinforcement Learning (RL) post-training of frontier Large Language Models (LLMs) to revolutionize customer service.

Responsibilities

• Develop innovative solutions to hard problems in LLM post-training, particularly for instruction following, reasoning over long context, and tool use.
• Collaborate with technology and business teams to solve real-world problems.
• Access to virtually endless data and computational resources.
• Work with world-class engineers and developers to bring your ideas into the world.

Requirements

• PhD, or Master's degree and 6+ years of applied research experience.
• Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language.
• Experience with neural deep learning methods and machine learning.

Qualifications

• First-authored publications on the topic of LLM post-training in top-tier AI conferences such as Neurips, ICML, ACL, etc.

Skills

• Experience with popular deep learning frameworks such as MxNet and Tensor Flow.

Pay

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
