About the role

As a highly experienced and seasoned science leader, you will apply state-of-the-art natural language processing and computer vision research to video-centric digital media. You will also be responsible for creating and maintaining the best environment for applied science to recruit, retain, and develop top talent. You will lead the research direction for a team of deeply talented applied scientists, creating roadmaps for forward-looking research, and communicate them effectively to senior leadership. Additionally, you will hire and develop applied scientists, growing the team to meet the evolving needs of our customers.

Responsibilities

  • Apply state-of-the-art natural language processing and computer vision research to video-centric digital media.
  • Create and maintain the best environment for applied science to recruit, retain, and develop top talent.
  • Lead the research direction for a team of applied scientists, including roadmap creation for forward-looking research.
  • Communicate research directions effectively to senior leadership.
  • Hire and develop applied scientists to meet evolving customer needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of building models for business applications.
  • PhD, or Master's degree and 4+ years of CS, CE, ML, or related field experience.
  • Experience programming in Java, C++, Python, or related language.
  • Experience developing and implementing deep learning algorithms, particularly computer vision algorithms.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience using Unix/Linux.
  • Experience in professional software development.
  • Publications at top-tier peer-reviewed conferences or journals.

Your Amazon package will also include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and location.

Pay

USA, WA, SEATTLE - 142,800.00 - 193,200.00 USD annually.
