Applied Scientist / Machine Learning -Amazon

Key Responsibilities

• Design and deploy large-scale deep learning architectures (e.g., multi-task learning, embedding representations) to predict customer behavior.
• Design large-scale A/B experiments to measure and attribute minor engagement signals and navigate competing business objectives.
• Partner with engineering teams to scale models under strict production latency constraints and translate product goals into machine learning solutions.
• Define the team’s scientific roadmap and identify high-impact research directions.

Qualifications

• PhD with 3+ years, or a Master's degree with 6+ years of applied research experience building ML models for business applications.
• Proficiency in Java, C++, or Python, alongside experience with neural deep learning frameworks (PyTorch, JAX preferred).
• Potential for familiarity with distributed systems (Hadoop, Spark) and large language model (LLM) fundamentals.
