Applied Scientist / Machine Learning -Amazon

About the role

We are seeking a highly motivated and seasoned Applied Scientist to shape the future of digital media and entertainment. In this role, you will have end-to-end ownership of the technology required to deliver state-of-the-art experiences for global customers. You will apply state-of-the-art natural language processing (NLP) and computer vision (CV) research to video-centric digital media, leading research directions and creating forward-looking roadmaps to communicate with senior leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Research & Development: Apply advanced Machine Learning, Computer Vision, and Natural Language Processing techniques to deeply understand, localize, and enrich video content.
• Techical Leadership: Lead the research direction, design long-term scientific roadmaps, and effectively present technical strategies to senior leadership.
• Team Growth: Mentor, hire, and develop a deeply talented team of applied scientists to meet evolving customer and platform needs.
• Execution: Move quickly from conceptual research to building and implementing deep learning algorithms for practical, high-scale business applications.

Job Requirements

• Basic Qualifications: Experience: 3+ years of experience building and deploying machine learning models for real-world business applications. Education: PhD or Master’s degree in Computer Science (CS), Computer Engineering (CE), Machine Learning (ML), or a highly related technical field (with 4+ years of experience). Programming: Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++. Deep Learning: Extensive experience developing and implementing deep learning algorithms, particularly within computer vision and image/video processing.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience working in Unix/Linux development environments. Proven track record in professional, production-grade software development. A history of academic contributions, including publications at top-tier, peer-reviewed AI/ML conferences or journals.

Benefits & Compensation

• Salary Range: $142,800.00 – $193,200.00 USD annually (Final compensation determined by experience, qualifications, and location).
