About the role

The AWS Neuron Science Team is seeking talented scientists to enhance our software stack, accelerating customer adoption of Trainium and Inferentia accelerators. This role involves working directly with external and internal customers to identify key adoption barriers and optimization opportunities. Collaboration with engineering teams and engagement with academic and research communities are key components of this role.

Responsibilities

  • Work with external and internal customers to identify and address key adoption barriers and optimization opportunities for Trainium and Inferentia accelerators.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to implement innovative solutions for accelerating ML workloads on AWS accelerators.
  • Engage with academic and research communities to advance state-of-the-art ML systems.
  • Support the development and management of Compute, Database, Storage, Platform, and Productivity Apps services in AWS, including support for specialized security solutions.
  • Exposure to and experience with Amazon's growing suite of generative AI services and other cloud computing offerings.

Requirements

  • PhD, or Master's degree and 4+ years of CS, CE, ML or related field experience.
  • Experience in patents or publications at top-tier peer-reviewed conferences or journals.
  • Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language.
  • Experience in algorithms and data structures, parsing, numerical optimization, data mining, parallel and distributed computing, high-performance computing.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in state-of-the-art deep learning models architecture design and deep learning training and optimization and model pruning.
  • Experience building machine learning models or developing algorithms for business applications.
  • Experience with Amazon's generative AI services and other cloud computing offerings.

Pay

The base salary range for this position is $171,600.00 - $222,200.00 annually.
