Applications Systems Analyst II
About the role
Lead technical specialist and database architect for all Admissions systems, with a focus on the Technolutions Slate Admissions application. Key stakeholder and project manager for the long-term design and maintenance of Admissions IT systems, particularly Slate. Oversee the sustainable structure of IT systems to meet the needs of a large, complex, and diverse office. Manage systems implementation and maintenance, and independently research and resolve complex technical issues. Serve as the technical liaison between admissions teams, training and supporting staff on IT systems, developing documentation of IT business processes, and providing desktop and technology support to Admissions staff.
Responsibilities
- Design and manage relational databases for Admissions systems, particularly Technolutions Slate.
- Oversee systems implementation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of complex technical issues.
- Serve as a technical liaison between admissions teams, providing training, support, and documentation for IT business processes.
- Provide desktop and technology support to Admissions staff.
- Ensure data security and integrity across all systems.
- Balance multiple time-sensitive projects with attention to detail.
- Collaborate with a diverse range of stakeholders while supporting MIT’s commitment to access, equity, and inclusion.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in computer science or a related field.
- Minimum of three years of relevant technical experience in CRM database management (Technolutions Slate preferred).
- Proficiency in hand-writing code and queries, such as SQL, HTML, JavaScript, CSS, and Python.
- Project management experience, including managing multiple time-sensitive projects.
- Knowledge of data security and integrity.
- Experience with Apple Macintosh computers.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in higher education, admissions, or secondary education.
- Experience with Filemaker or Microsoft SharePoint/OneDrive.

Eligible to work a combination of in-office and remote days each week.
