About the role

As a Staff Engineer in our Applications Engineering team, you will work with a variety of customers in your application area of High Frequency Electromagnetics and provide recommendations for improving their product development.
Responsibilities
- Leads the coordination and execution of all technical activities throughout the lifecycle of a sales opportunity, e.g. technical discovery, negotiation of technical success criteria, product presentations, demonstrations and evaluations.
- Works independently, results-oriented, across teams and organizations.
- Works with customers to better understand their product development requirements and what they need to improve their performance metrics.
- Utilizes relevant product technologies and platforms to address application-specific design and simulation requirements.
- Supports the development of differentiating simulation solutions using our platform and our products; implements our solutions into customers' design workflows.
- Expands expertise and becomes a recognized expert in your field of application.
- Collaborates with the Product Development team to translate customer requirements into new product features; participates in the testing of new product releases, develops application best practices.
- Supports the Field and Digital Marketing team by developing promotional materials and supporting events and author conference presentations.
- Contributes to and leads professional service deliveries and conducts training classes.
Qualifications
- Required education and degree type: BS or MS or PhD in Mechanical/Chemical/Aerospace/Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Required minimum years of professional experience in an engineering software environment: BS+5, MS+3, or PhD+0.
- Demonstrated use of relevant Ansys software or knowledge of other commercial CAE, CAD, EDA, PLM software packages.
- Logical problem-solving, strong interpersonal and communication skills, fluent in writing and speaking English.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, possesses a sense of urgency.
- Projects a professional image and demonstrates business acumen, driven to succeed.
- Ability to travel domestically up to 25% of time.
- Demonstrated working knowledge and previous usage of Ansys HFSS, Ansys SIwave, Ansys Q3D Extractor or other simulation software involving real world, industry level applications.
- Knowledge of RF circuit packaging, printed circuit boards and connector design processes and simulations.
- Fundamental knowledge of high frequency electromagnetics, microwave and antenna concepts including S-parameters, wave propagation, antenna radiation patterns, scattering analysis, and component coupling/interference analysis.
- Knowledgeable of Electromagnetic Compatibility and Interference.
- Experience considering multi-physics implications on electronic devices such as thermal, stress, and general electronics reliability.
- Knowledge of high-powered electromagnetic applications.
