Applications Engineer, Poultry
About the role
As a DSI Applications Engineer in JBT Marel’s Poultry North America Division, you will report directly to the DSI Application Manager. You will work on-site at customer food production facilities to gather and prioritize requirements, assess production lines, and provide process-improvement feedback. The role involves identifying solutions, configuring portioning-system software, measuring data, analyzing trends, and communicating results. You will also coordinate customer visits based on department priorities and strategic programs.
Background
For over 30 years, the DSI brand has led innovation in waterjet portioning of boneless proteins. DSI systems are continually refined to deliver automated solutions for portioning, trimming, and sorting.
Responsibilities
- Work directly with customers on-site at their food production facilities
- Gather and prioritize customer requirements
- Assess customer production lines and provide feedback for process improvement
- Locate necessary information and resources, explore options, and identify solutions
- Manipulate portioning-system software to meet customer needs
- Measure data, analyze trends, and communicate results
- Coordinate customer visits based on department priorities and strategic programs
Requirements
- BS degree in Engineering, Food Science, Poultry Science, or Meat Science
- 1+ years of experience with technical concepts involving computers, software, and robotics principles
- Ability to creatively translate customer requirements into practical applications
- Must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship now or in the future
Pay
The estimated annual salary range for this role is $75,000–$90,000. Starting salary varies by location, qualifications, and prior experience.
Schedule
This position is fully remote with approximately 90% travel required.
