Description
The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing submittals, creating estimates, and generating system installation prints for building automation projects based on plans, specifications, and/or existing site conditions. They will also provide technical expertise in the design, selection, and application of HVAC Building Automation Systems (BAS) for various projects.
- Effectively design BAS control systems and prepare control drawings to contract specifications for building HVAC systems.
- Provide technical support for LONG installers and technicians.
- Provide technical support to the sales team during the bid and proposal phase, including the preparation of equipment selection, pricing, and submittals.
- Design and select HVAC BAS based on project specifications, codes, and industry standards.
- Perform valve sizing, low voltage load calculations, selection using industry-standard software programs.
- Develop detailed installation prints based on the project scope within budget while maintaining schedule.
- Work closely with project management teams to ensure that projects are executed on time, within budget, and meet customer requirements.
- Provide technical support during the installation and commissioning of HVAC systems.
- Conduct site visits to gather information HVAC equipment for BAS designs.
- Provide technical training to internal and external stakeholders on HVAC system design, application, and installation.
- Collaborate with other engineers and departments to improve product design and quality.
- Prepare system documentation for submittal process.
- Work professionally and efficiently with the project personnel.
- Stay current with the modern technologies and components utilized in HVAC and BAS systems.
- Support the department in bidding, designing, and executing various jobs and projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical or related field) OR 2+ years' experience in temperature controls engineering and design AND Associate degree in Engineering (Mechanical or related field).
- Ability to legally drive a motor vehicle.
- Mechanical aptitude with an understanding of HVAC equipment and systems, controls, building automation, and construction procedures.
- Knowledge of HVAC industry standards, codes, and regulations.
- Good written and verbal communication with all levels of the organization.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and communications skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent documentation and time management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret mechanical plans and specifications.
- Working knowledge of computer drafting software.
Preferred Qualifications
- Working experience with Visio and AutoCAD.
- Experience with product lines such as Tridium, KMC, and Distech.
- Knowledge or experience on sizing and selected control valves, relay logic and ladder diagrams.
Physical Requirements
- Sitting for extended periods.
- Lifting, bending, and kneeling.
- Lifting up to 25 lbs. from floor to countertop and countertop to floor.

Pay
Pay range: $33.65 - $52.88 per hr. plus potential profit share.
