This position is responsible for the maintenance, design, and/or development of software applications that support operations of The Office of the Vice President for Research (OVPR) and the Biosecurity Research Institute (BRI).

Worksite
This position is on-site. All employees must reside in the United States when they begin working to comply with state law. K-State is unable to provide remote or hybrid work opportunities for residents of the state of Idaho.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Biosafety team during Federal Select Agent Program inspections (scheduled and unscheduled) with report generation, data investigation, and other duties as assigned. Inspections typically occur twice annually, each lasting about a week. Vacation will not be approved during an inspection.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Six years of relevant experience (may be met through a combination of work experience and education)
- Valid driver’s license upon employment
- Ability to receive a favorable background check from KSU and pass Select Agent Background Check upon employment
- Legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis without sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Management of Information Systems, or closely related fields requiring a high degree of software design and programming expertise
- Knowledge and experience with RESTful services, MVC framework, SQL databases, DevOps methodologies, and Salesforce
- Experience with contemporary design patterns (e.g., MVVM), iterative software and engineering processes (e.g., Agile), version control tooling, documentation, and development/debugging tools
Pay
$47,486.00 - $60,541.00 annually
