Application Developer I

About the role

D.R. Horton, Inc., the largest homebuilder in the U.S., is seeking an Application Developer I to create web-based applications using technologies such as MVC, Microsoft technologies (C#, Entity Framework), React, JavaScript/CSS, WebAPI, and SQL Databases.

Responsibilities

• Develop applications that streamline internal business processes
• Work with existing legacy applications to convert, extend, and enhance functionality, as well as develop new applications
• Perform unit testing after development tasks, initiate end-to-end testing, and validate in a development environment
• Follow predefined development standards for naming conventions, user interface, etc.
• Complete assigned tasks correctly and within the assigned time
• Perform problem determination for correcting defects
• Work with users or Business Analysts to determine requirements and design for systems
• Conduct all business in a professional and ethical manner to serve customers and increase company goodwill and profit

Qualifications

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
• 0-1 years of .Net web application development or related experience
• Excellent verbal, written communication, and listening skills
• Ability to work in a team-oriented environment
• Strong customer service relationship skills
• Ability to apply technical skills to implement high-quality solutions for system enhancements or problem corrections
• Ability to apply logical methods to solve difficult problems and generate effective solutions through accurate analysis
• Proficiency with MS Office and email

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university
• Experience working in a full life-cycle development environment
