The mission of the New York City Police Department is to enhance the quality of life in New York City by working in partnership with the community to enforce the law, preserve peace, protect the people, reduce fear, and maintain order. The Strategic Technology Division is responsible for developing and coordinating deployment of emerging technology applications, strategic IT infrastructure, and enterprise platforms.

About the role

The Strategic Technology Division is seeking a Senior IT Architect to act as an Applications Architect. This role involves architecting, designing, and developing solutions on Dynamics 365, SharePoint Online, and Power Platform.

Responsibilities

  • Architect, design, and develop solutions on Dynamics 365, SharePoint Online, and Power Platform.
  • Guide developers and build applications using Power Platform Dataverse tables.
  • Envision, design, and implement business workflows using Power Automation Flows.
  • Utilize Azure services such as Azure Service Bus, Azure Logic Apps, and Azure Functions for system integration.
  • Design and help implement Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Deployment (CD) using Azure DevOps.
  • Establish standards and best practices to ensure applications, components, and services comply with them.
  • Maintain compliance with architecture standards and oversee the application development life cycle.
  • Ensure alignment with Citywide and NYPD standards, and propose updates based on industry best practices.
  • Configure Power Platform tenants, environments, and subscriptions.
  • Configure authentication, multi-factor authentication (MFA), and authorization using Azure AD and related Azure services.

Requirements

  • A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college in computer science, information systems, engineering, mathematics, or a related field and six years of satisfactory full-time experience related to enterprise architecture, solutions architecture, network architecture, and/or IT infrastructure systems; or
  • A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and ten years of satisfactory full-time experience related to enterprise architecture, solutions architecture, network architecture, and/or IT infrastructure systems; or
  • Education and/or experience equivalent to the above.

Skills

  • Proficiency with project management methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, or hybrid) and standard project management tools.
  • Understanding of data governance and privacy policies.
  • Strong communication (oral and written), interpersonal, organization, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently and enthusiasm for learning new technologies.
  • Microsoft certification in Power Platform or Dynamics 365.
  • 10+ years’ experience executing technical discovery, design, and deployment deliverables for discovery and monitoring systems.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including mentoring, coaching, collaborating, and team building.
  • Knowledge of Agile principles and values.
  • Knowledge of ITIL-compliant IT Service Management suite.

Pay

$100,000.00 – $180,000.00

New York City Residency is not required for this position.

Work location: 1 Police Plaza.
