Applications Analyst III
Regular full-time position, 80 hours every two weeks, day shift.
Pay
Base hiring salary range: $86,763.34 – $130,145.01 (midpoint $108,454.18). Actual salaries vary based on skills and experience. This range is one component of the total rewards/compensation package.
About the role
The Applications Analyst provides analysis, build, implementation, support, maintenance, and development of assigned applications. Acts as a liaison between vendors, teams, customers, and technical staff in a healthcare setting. Coordinates technical aspects of projects, reports status to leaders or stakeholders, and participates in monitoring, testing, and training of technical builds.
Responsibilities
- Participate in analysis, build, testing, documentation, and implementation of optimization or projects related to informatics.
- Interact, plan, and schedule activities with customers to determine information needs and objectives.
- Assess current workflows and application configurations; identify and document end-user needs and requirements.
- Build and test application software to meet identified needs and requirements; ensure a consistent approach throughout the project.
- Develop, maintain, and adhere to project plans, ensuring realistic timelines and cost/resource constraints.
- Liaise across departments, technical staff, and vendors to define and meet project objectives.
- Monitor and report progress via ongoing maintenance of the project plan; provide formal status reports and escalate issues as needed.
- Ensure timely completion of routine maintenance for assigned applications.
- Coordinate application and interface maintenance, troubleshooting, and testing activities between teams, departments, and vendors.
- Facilitate enhancement requests and serve as the day-to-day contact for vendors regarding ongoing maintenance/outages.
- Ensure smooth transitions from build to test to production environments following change control policies and procedures.
- Create, update, and provide test scripts for software build and workflow changes; document workflow and software changes.
- Communicate upcoming workflow and software changes to affected application analysts and testing personnel; follow up on issues through resolution.
- Ensure workflow and software changes are clearly communicated with trainers and/or end users.
- Confirm consistency between production and master training environment content.
- Collaborate with trainers to create, update, and provide training materials (e.g., Tips & Tricks documents).
- Communicate upcoming workflow changes via EHR news, standard work creation, and principal trainers; upload tip sheets to the intranet.
- Demonstrate problem-solving and troubleshooting skills; adhere to defined Issue Management procedures.
- Document, track, and follow up on reported incidents; facilitate issue resolution by coordinating with end users and vendors.
- Evaluate and submit enhancement and system change requests; offer creative solutions.
- Complete all assigned tickets within defined metrics: >92% of incidents under 9 days and >92% of service desk requests under 50 days.
- Interact with customers at all organizational levels to determine reporting, dashboard, and data extract/exchange needs.
- Plan and schedule reporting, dashboard, and data extract/exchange activities in collaboration with internal and external customers.
- Act as a liaison across departments to define and meet reporting, dashboard, and data extract/exchange objectives.
- Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, and data extracts for assigned applications; ensure consistency in processes.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Certified and/or proficient in appropriate vendor module, including vendor-led training and successful completion of tests and project assignments within designated timeframes.
- 3+ years of experience in a technical setting designing, building, and implementing technology solutions.
- Healthcare IT experience preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
