About the role

This is a hybrid/onsite position - requires two days onsite weekly.
Location: 150 E 42nd Street, New York, NY
The Applications Analyst II provides first and second-tier application support, troubleshooting, and customer service for the institution’s Research Technology application portfolio (including Huron eResearch Suite, Pre-Award Grants Management application, REDCap EDC and other Lab/Compliance applications).

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for functional, technical, and data-related support across the Research Technology portfolio, providing responsive service to researchers, faculty, and administrative staff.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to configure and support research applications, data collection processes, and workflows that align with research, operational, and compliance requirements.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve application, data integrity, and workflow issues through root cause analysis, issue investigation, and collaboration with IT teams and vendors.
  • Provide data services support, including data collection, validation, quality assurance, migration, transformation, and maintenance of research and administrative data.
  • Develop, maintain, and support operational, research, compliance, and grants management reports, dashboards, and data extracts to meet institutional reporting requirements.
  • Analyze system utilization, user activity, support metrics, and reporting data to identify opportunities for workflow optimization, process improvement, and enhanced user adoption.
  • Design and deliver user training, workshops, and educational materials on application functionality, reporting capabilities, data management best practices, and system workflows.
  • Administer user access, security roles, permissions, and governance controls while ensuring compliance with institutional policies, regulatory requirements, and audit standards.
  • Participate in system implementations, upgrades, testing, reporting enhancements, and special projects, including User Acceptance Testing (UAT), application migrations, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Education Requirements: Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, public health, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Experience Requirements: 4 years of professional experience in IT support, application administration, or clinical research data management. Prior experience supporting Research systems is highly desirable.
  • General Skills and Competencies: Requires strong interpersonal skills with a commitment to providing prompt, empathetic, and professional customer service and support to the research community. Demonstrates the ability to effectively facilitate guided user support sessions and present technical applications clearly to users with varying levels of technical aptitude. Possesses a methodical approach to troubleshooting technical problems, isolating variables, and identifying root causes. Exhibits excellent verbal and written communication skills, essential for writing clear user guides, documentation, and translating complex system logic to end-users. Demonstrates flexibility and the ability to balance support requests across multiple distinct applications, adapting seamlessly as institutional software tools evolve. Ability to work effectively within an IT team environment and interface productively with diverse academic, clinical, and administrative stakeholders.
