About the role

The Application Scientist supports LC-MS product demonstrations, application development, technical training, and customer-facing activities within the Clinical and Forensics markets. This role contributes to the success of SCIEX’s accurate mass product portfolio and partners with Sales, Service, and Product teams to deliver pre-sales support, customer presentations, and technical expertise.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and deliver customer demonstrations showcasing SCIEX LC/MS products and workflows.
  • Provide on-site training for customers on SCIEX hardware and software platforms and offer ongoing support to ensure customer satisfaction and product efficiency.
  • Work with business and sales units to pinpoint areas needing growth, identifying key application areas.
  • Investigate and develop comprehensive solutions (including sample preparation, analytical methods, and reporting) for internal use or customer deployment and collaborate with colleagues in different regions to develop a full suite of application solutions.
  • Aid in defining and developing new hardware and software products, thoroughly test these new products within both the nominal and accurate mass product portfolio.
  • Participate in scientific conferences, seminars, and training programs to stay updated and contribute to the scientific community.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or related life sciences field
  • 2+ Experience with mass spectrometry, liquid chromatography (LC-MS), and other analytical techniques with strong understanding of method development, validation, and troubleshooting for LC-MS/MS methods
  • Ability to present scientific data clearly to diverse audiences and build strong relationships with customers and internally within SCIEX
  • Proven capacity to troubleshoot instrumentation and application-related issues
  • Experienced with small molecule quantitation on triple quadrupoles

Qualifications

  • Up to 50% of travel in North America if based local to the demo sites in Marlborough, MA or Golden, CO. If based remotely, job function includes travel up to 75%
  • Possess a current driver license with an acceptable driving record
  • Previous experience using SCIEX instrumentation and software
  • Knowledge of clinical market trends, assays, and laboratory workflows
  • Prior experience working in a University Core Facility

Pay

The annual salary range OR the hourly range for this role is $74k-$92K

Schedule

This is a full-time position with up to 50% travel in North America if based local to the demo sites in Marlborough, MA or Golden, CO. If based remotely, job function includes travel up to 75%.
