Application Software Engineer 1
About the role
Learns to adhere to all phases of the application software development lifecycle. Assists with creating and reviewing code for application features and enhancements following design specifications, and develops documents to clarify application design and code. Conducts debugging and troubleshooting to identify and fix simple application issues. Develops fixes for identified issues. Troubleshoots and resolves basic issues related to application programming interface (API) functionality, integration, and service-to-service interactions. Communicates with own team to understand customer use cases and align application solutions. May provide technical guidance and support to customers on application-related issues, with direct supervision.
Responsibilities
- Implements small, well-scoped code changes within an application following design and coding standards.
- Assists in triaging low-risk production issues; escalates appropriately.
- Executes basic troubleshooting guided by runbooks for Oracle app services and simple integrations.
- Participates in QA handoffs; updates unit tests for small features.
- Follows existing software architecture patterns when writing code.
- Translates clear requirements into basic, maintainable components. Uses existing APIs; documents simple dependencies.
- Joins customer requirement reviews as an observer; captures notes.
- Incorporates feedback from tickets/maintainers to refine tasks.
- Collaborates within the immediate team; seeks mentorship.

- Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Pay
Hiring Range in USD from: $61,000 - $132,400 per year. May be eligible for bonus and equity.
