Application Portfolio Partner (ISS6)

Help the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife fulfill its mission: To protect and enhance Oregon's fish and wildlife and their habitats for use and enjoyment by present and future generations.

We are hiring for one permanent, full-time position located at the ODFW Headquarters in Salem.

About the Role

You will serve as the primary strategic partner between designated business units and the Information Services Division (ISD), guiding the success of a defined portfolio of applications. You will ensure that technology effectively supports program goals, provide expert-level insight, and lead lifecycle planning, modernization efforts, and complex issue resolution.

Responsibilities

• Business Partnership & Engagement
  • Lead collaboration with program areas to set priorities, gather complex requirements, advise on modernization opportunities, and recommend technology improvements that support long-term planning.
• Support Triage & Issue Resolution
  • Serve as the escalation point for high-impact, multi-system issues; perform advanced troubleshooting; and lead testing activities, including regression and user acceptance validation.
• Application Portfolio Ownership
  • Maintain deep expertise in assigned applications, identify and mitigate architectural or lifecycle risks, coordinate multi-team upgrades and feature releases.
  • Collaborate with Systems Analysts to refine information processes, and maintain system analysis and design documentation.

Requirements

To be considered for this position, all applicants must meet one of the following options:

• Option 1: Five (5) years of information systems experience in: project management and program analysis
• Option 2: A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field AND one (1) year of information systems experience in: project management and program analysis
• Option 3: An Associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or completion of a two (2) year accredited vocational training program in information technology or related field; AND three (3) years of information systems experience in: project management and program analysis

Pay

The salary range for this position is $6,182 - $9,361 per month. The salary listed is the non-PERS qualifying salary range. If the successful candidate is PERS qualifying, the salary range will reflect an additional 6.95%.
