Application Engineer I

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Technical Consultation: Advise clients and sales teams on product features, applications, and suitability for specific needs.
• Presentations & Demos: Deliver compelling technical presentations and product demonstrations to prospective customers.
• Solution Development: Work with engineering to design and customize products or services to meet customer requirements.
• Sales Support: Assist sales teams in preparing technical proposals, documentation, and securing orders.
• Customer Support: Provide postsales technical assistance, troubleshooting, and installation support.
• Liaison: Function as a bridge between sales, engineering, and customers to ensure alignment.
• Market Insight: Monitor industry trends, competitive analysis, and gather customer feedback to inform product development.
• Travel: Travels to customers as needed, attends trade shows

POSITION REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, or another related field
• 2+ years of professional experience required in similar role
• Willing to travel 10%
• Experience with hydraulic components, especially in construction, mining, lift, aerial work platform, marine and offshore, and the oil and gas industries required
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Ability to speak Chinese (Mandarin) required
• Local to Bolingbrook, IL or willing to relocate
