Application Engineer

About the role

The Application Engineer plays a crucial role in the design and development of equipment and systems, as well as the redesign of existing systems to meet customer needs. This position requires technical product and design assistance to both internal and external customers, and provides equipment functionality and capability reports to the sales force. Additionally, this role acts as a technical liaison to the sales team and coordinates additional support activities and post-sales technical support with engineering departments.

Responsibilities

• Aids in the design and development of equipment and systems, and redesigns existing systems to fulfill customer needs.
• Communicates product challenges and customer-specific requirements for resolution.
• Provides equipment functionality and capability reports to the sales force.
• Acts as technical liaison to the sales team.
• Coordinates additional support activities and post-sales technical support with engineering departments.
• Drafts, checks, and quotes ACAD sales drawings/submittals.
• Manages large sales projects through project management.
• Produces presentations and product comparisons for sales assistance.
• Assists in producing sales drawings and siphonic drain layouts.
• Provides tolerancing assistance for made-to-order products.
• Determines product technical strengths/weaknesses compared to competitors.

Qualifications/Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Plastics Engineering with 0-2 years of relevant experience.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Access).
• Strong teamwork, presentation, project management, and verbal/written communication skills.
• ACAD/Inventor computer skills.
• Ability to work effectively at all organizational levels.
• Ability to travel up to 20%.
• Customer-driven sense of urgency.
• Ability to lead, train, and drive change.
• Self-motivated individual capable of multitasking and working in a fast-paced environment.
