Application Engineer

About the role
The Application Engineer works closely with customers, sales teams, and consulting to promote and deliver Siemens EDA products and related services. They provide input to engineering regarding customer requirements and help test new software to ensure alignment with customer needs. Reporting to the Technical Marketing manager, the Application Engineer helps the Electronics Board Systems (EBS) division meet its annual revenue goals directly by supporting customer evaluations and delivering consulting services, and indirectly by developing sales enablement materials used by others.
Responsibilities
- Create sales enablement materials including presentations, demonstrations, workshops, videos, instructional documents, scripts, design kits, and similar assets.
- Train AEs, sales team members, and customers on product capabilities and process best practices through live events and/or recorded materials.
- Support sales activities through direct customer interaction including demonstrations and hands-on evaluations.
- Deliver paid consulting services.
- Provide input to engineering regarding customer requirements.
- Test pre-release software and log issues as necessary.
Requirements
- BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or similar field.
- Knowledge of printed circuit board design, documentation, and manufacturing processes.
- 3+ years of experience working on electronics design.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; comfortable leading detailed technical conversations and presenting to large audiences.
- No travel restrictions.
- Must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without requiring employer-sponsored work authorization now or in the future.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience using PCB design tools (Siemens, Cadence, Altium, etc.).
- Experience using Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tools such as Siemens Teamcenter, PTC Windchill, and Dassault 3DX.
- Programming skills including Java, VB.NET, Perl, and Python.
This position is subject to U.S. export control requirements under ITAR and/or EAR. Employment is contingent on verifying U.S. Person status or obtaining any necessary export license.

Pay
$90,000 – $162,000, with a 3-5% annual incentive.
