We are seeking an Application Engineer to act as the primary customer and prospect contact for technical product information and support. This role works closely with the Sales team for both pre- and post-sale support, provides technical input to Engineering for product improvements and new designs, and creates customized product solutions at the firmware and software level.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for Applied Motion Products’ products, including motors, drives, or related products via on-site visits, phone, and email.
  • Provide product recommendations to customers based on application requirements and motor/drive sizing calculations.
  • Train in-house sales personnel, distributors, and manufacturer reps on AMP products.
  • Provide primary technical marketing and sales input to Engineering on product improvements and new product designs.

Requirements

This position is available in specific metropolitan areas only: San Jose, CA; Dallas, TX; Chicago, IL. If you are not located near one of these areas, your application will not be considered.

  • Minimum 1+ years of related experience in a motion control environment.
  • Ability to install, troubleshoot, and program motion control products.
  • Working knowledge of mechanics and machine operations across a wide variety of industries.
  • Computer skills and knowledge of Office 365 products.
  • General experience or knowledge of electronics, electrical systems, mechanics, and industry knowledge in the markets we serve.
  • Experience with automation and control products, including step motors, step motor drives, servo motors, servo motor drives, industrial networking protocols, and PLCs such as EtherCAT and Ethernet IP.

Qualifications

  • BSEE or BSME preferred.
  • Associates degree in a technical field accepted.
